MLGF Gets Major Boost at Mundy Township Board Meeting

The mission to bring a Miracle League field to Genesee County took a big step toward becoming a reality tonight.

At the monthly Mundy Township Board meeting, the Board of Trustees approved Resolution No. R-17-02 which is a Michigan Department of Natural Resources Grant Application for the proposed Hill Road Park where the future Miracle League of Greater Flint will be located. The move means that the Township can now pursue grants and other funding source opportunities to support the creation of the new recreational facility.

As part of the meeting, there was a public hearing on the proposed Miracle League field. Brian Caine, Director of the Miracle League of Greater Flint, spoke of the importance of the project stating, “There are 9,470 disabled kids in Genesee County who need this field so they can have the experience of playing on a team.”

Members of Grand Blanc High School’s Miracle League Club and the Miracle League of Greater Flint’s Board of Directors were also at the meeting in a show of support for the initiative.
