A Miracle League Hero

Vicki Caine is a Miracle League hero and the inspiration behind the Miracle League of Greater Flint.

A few years back, Vicki started the Miracle League of Mid-Michigan in DeWitt. It has been an amazing success. For her efforts, Vicki was honored with the Director’s Champion of Health Award at the Governor’s Fitness Awards in 2017.  Watch this video featuring Vicki and her work here.

It turns out the Vicki is the aunt of Brian Caine, the League Director for the Miracle League of Greater Flint. Two years ago, Brian called his Aunt Vicki to ask her all about the Miracle League and how to bring it to the Flint area. Fast forward to May 16, 2017, and Vicki joined Brian at the news conference announcing the Miracle League of Greater Flint and the capital campaign for the new field.

Thank you Vicki for all your support! You are a true champion for equality in sports!

Another great fundraiser for the Miracle League of Greater Flint is on deck!

On Sunday, June 25 at 1:00 p.m., there will be a yoga fundraiser at Prana Yoga Center in Grand Blanc, located on South Saginaw in the Old World Village, right near Center Road. The class will be suitable for those new to yoga as well as longtime practitioners. The class will consist of 108 sun salutations in honor of the summer solstice. High Fives for MLGF!

Did you know that April 21st is National High Five Day?

Grand Blanc High School‘s Miracle League Club went all out to celebrate the day with their first fundraising event for the Miracle League of Greater Flint (MLGF). The idea was simple–giving each other high fives, and making a donation of $2 to paint your hand to show your handprint on a banner. The activity brought more than funds to the effort–it also raised awareness about the work that is being done to bring a Miracle League field to Mundy Township.

Nearly $400 was raised for MLGF. High fives to the GBHS Miracle League Club all the amazing volunteers who made this event happen!
