The Fenton Knights of Columbus raised nearly $8,000 for the Miracle League of Greater Flint!
This super sum of money was raised through their traditional Tootsie Roll fund drives. This past spring, the MLGF volunteers teamed up with the Knights at intersections throughout Fenton to hand out Tootsie Rolls for a donation to benefit MLGF. The hard work paid off!
At their May meeting, the Knights presented MLGF League Director Brian Caine with a check for $7,929.69.
Many thanks to the Fenton Knights of Columbus for going above and beyond to help kids of all abilities play sports in Genesee County!
One of Flint’s great local businesses, Hoffman’s Deco Deli and Cafe, has created a sandwich to help raise funds for the Miracle League of Greater Flint.
Dubbed The Grand Slam, the sandwich is a colossal combination of Grilled Chicken, Crispy Bacon, Swiss, Tiger Sauce (sweet/hot chili sauce), Grilled Pineapple, Red Onion, Leaf Lettuce and Grilled on a Pretzel Bun. It is an amazing bite!
Proceeds from the sale of every sandwich will benefit MLGF and the efforts to build a Miracle League Field in Mundy Township for children of all abilities. The new field will be located in the new Hill Road Park behind Assenmacher’s Cycle Center and the Home Depot on Hill Road near U.S. 23.
Thanksgiving came early for the Miracle League of Greater Flint!
The charity is grateful for the $2,500 donation it received this week from the Grand Blanc Running Peeps. The group holds an annual race every year on Thanksgiving, and proceeds from the race go to local charities. This year, MLGF was selected as a recipient!
The group is looking for both participants and volunteers for this year’s race which takes place 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 23. The race begins at Leo’s Coney Island in Grand Blanc. For details on the fun and how you can help, click here to learn more.
Thanks Grand Blanc Running Peeps for moving us closer to creating a Miracle League field in Genesee County!
The yoga fundraiser at Spicer Orchards on October 20th was a joyful success!
Nearly $200 was raised for the Miracle League of Greater Flint. Yogis came out for a beautiful sunset practice in the apple orchard. Yoga teacher Amy Cross of Prana Yoga Center in Grand Blanc led the group through a series of gentle poses and stretches. Live music was provided by the talented Gloria who shared her piano skills and voice with the group. And at the end, cider and donuts of course!
All of the community support that has rallied behind the goal of bringing a new Miracle League field to Genesee County is remarkable. These efforts are appreciated as we move closer to our goal!
